CSI cameras

What cameras do the CSI team use? Well, I've spotted them using both Nikon and FujiFilm - depending which series you watch.
To fully answer this question read this.

Olympus AZ-1
09.30.04 (12:36 am)

I'm one of those human-beings that have a bias towards CANON and OLYMPUS digital cameras. Partly because I own cameras from these brands and also because of their superior image quality when it comes to pictures.
The Olympus AZ-1 was introduced back in April 2004 but only now is it hitting our stores. Yup, we in Malaysia tend to be at the tail end of things.
If looks and styling alone can sell then Olympus has a winner with this camera. dpreview.com has a good review here.
It retails for about RM1,699 (USD450).

This man looking for island...
09.29.04 (4:30 am)
...only when I'm rich and gold flows out my ears, will I be able to afford this beauty. CANON EOS-1Ds Mark II
Pricing (body only) USA $ 7,999 UK £ 5,999 Europe € 8,000 Malaysia: $7,999 x 3.8 = RM30,396.20
[line]
Today was a bummer of a day.
Firstly, tblog screwed up my earlier blog. It disappeared.
Yes, I typed out my heart-wrenching-cry-it-al l-story and it was not posted.
Secondly, today my dad gave me a pep talk on things that have no real concern to me except the one about wifey.
For those that are familiar with me (all 4 or 5 of you), you know that I still live with my parents and siblings. One happy family under one rather large roof. Living together like this has it's advantages. You actually save a lot of money buying stuff like toothpaste, soap and whatever thats humans commonly need.
The down-side is that at times we all get on each others nerves. In this case mine.
My dad gave me instructions to "look into" the affairs of my second brother, help support (financially) my third brother and occasionally my sister plus teach wifey the finer points on How to get along with you mum-in-law. On top of all this I'm still called to be the obedient son who would sacrifice everything for the family. Sounds like something from The Village....shesssh.
Did anyone asked me how I felt?
NO, nadah, who cares...
Sometimes it is best to asked the fella that you appoint to do something, just who do they feel. If you miss out on this fundamental rule of nature, you might have a psychopath on your hands. Which I may be turning into when the moon is full.
My arguments are such: my brother is old enough to think for himself. He does not need good-old-elder-bro looking over his shoulders everytime he wants to do something. Secondly, I would eventually help support my other two siblings financially but what are they doing for themselves now, besides looking out for hand-outs? Thirdly, wifey is wifey, do you think I can survive a sparring match with her? End of story.
They say no man is an island. Well, with stuff like this bugging me at home, I'm really into the idea of being a self-imposed-recluse on a tiny island somewhere. I'm just frustrated that I have to deal with all these things when I already have so much to think about. Why can't these people just roll over and solve their own problems. I can't be the referee each time something comes up.
If I was the referee, I'll red-card everyone and make them stay in their rooms.

Where's my Canon 10D?
09.27.04 (5:24 pm)
[image]objectzero_4266752 03.jpg[/image] courtesy of taxi images.
I'm still waiting for my Canon 10D. The wait is more agonizing then when I was waiting for my son, Ryan, to be born. By the way Ryan turned 3 months last Sunday...today he's getting his shots. He'll probably scream the clinic down.
I finally made contact with the seller, who happens to be a pro-photographer, he will post it to me within the next few days once all the paymets have cleared on his side.
Wifey seems pretty cool about the fact that I've just splashed 4K on a camera. She'll probably freaked when I start my collection of lenses to go with the 10D. I'll start the collection with a mega-wide lens, probably a 16mm on my next trip to Penang.
The 1.6x multiplier on the Canon 10D would turn the 16mm into a 26mm. The 12mm would be nice but for the price of a small compact car - nah!
I've already got some free-lance work in line so that I can make back the money I've invested in getting the 10D. I've missed the wedding band-wagon since most of my friends got married last year. Maybe they'll employ me to take pictures of their babies...
For the time being, I'm keeping myself occupied by reading other people's experiences with the Canon 10D. Eelco Voogd maintains a nice Canon 10D blog, it's a good read and the pictures are great.

Malaysian Media - dirt mongers
09.26.04 (9:22 pm)
Was reading Berita Harian (Daily News) and couldn't help noticing how at times the Malaysian media can be rather bias in their reporting. The reports on the Iraqi war paints a picture that Malaysians support the insurgences. There is ample dirt-news about America and Bush seems to have been deemed a baboon.
I can't help bring to mind the type of news reports we have on the national (government sponsored) tv stations - creatively known as TV1 and TV2. The 10pm World News is plastered with bad-remarks against America.
It's a funny thing that Malaysia is also very much dependent on America money to run its economy. We consume American products by the ear-full and digest their brand of living whenever possible. So why bad-mouth that which feeds you?
I believe it comes down to, if you can't beat them then be the best at bad-mouthing them - Bolehland in motion. We love to play the phantom-of-the-opera role. Noone knows where we are coming from and better still we don't even know what we are aiming for.
Talking about aimless initiatives there is now interest in monitoring tv programs for any form of im-morality. If this is practiced, 70% of Malaysian tv will be blacked-out and we'll be relegated to watching sub-standard acting by local productions.
A greater impact will be felt by TV1 and TV2 who are currently being re-packaged, re-vitalised, and re-vived in order to grab the younger market-share. How can you grab the MTV generation without MTV?
In calling for monitoring of Malaysian television for things deemed im-moral, why don't we monitor the publications also.
Do a general scan of the local news-stand and you will notice that local entertainment magazines almost always pictured with blue eyed, blonde haired Malaysian artist. We have these artist in what we locally call posing maut - death pose. Trying their best to look sexually pleasing. We love to brand western media for corrupting our minds but what about our own local media?
One group that I know will benefit from government monitoring of television shows will be the cable-television operators. At least MTV available is available on ASTRO - people, ASTRO does its own censoring of programs. Trust me Malaysian tv, anyway you go is censored.
Lets wait and see whether Malaysian media especially tv matures or be relegated to just the cartoon networks.

Gleefully laughing shutterbug
09.24.04 (7:09 pm)
Yipee!!! My Canon 10D will be arriving next week, hopefully tuesday.
I've already got some photography projects in mind which involve travelling out of Sarawak. A step closer to my dream of being a photo-freelance-journalis t. I might not make National Geographic but at least I'm trying to head in that direction. Still so much to learn but I have to start somewhere.
Among other things, had a fun time last night watching my brother's music band on tv. They made it into the second round of a band competition and was competing for the right to go to the finals.
The winner of the competition was determined by a combination of viewer votes (30%) and judges points (70%).
They did not make it through to the final but at least they were tops in the viewers votes.I've got a feeling someone would approach them after seeing their performance last night.
Another weekend but this time I get to rest a bit. Whether I get enough sleep for the next two days, I am not sure. Thinking of all the shots I'll take with the 10D will probably keep me awake...

The Blackspot AntiCorporation
09.23.04 (9:36 pm)
Fancy owning shares in a corporation by just buying a pair of sneakers.
I kid you not, hop on over to blackspotsneaker.org and join The Blackspot Corporation. By buying a pair of their designer sneakers, you get a stake in their corporation. You'll be given an id which allows you to login and take part in the corporations decision-making. Basically the consumers of The Blackspot Corporation dictates the direction that the corporation will take.
This is a model in bottom-up management. Where the top management actually listens to the share-holders. In this case the share-holders are internation every-day joes and joeys. Anyone can buy into this corporation.
A very liberating idea, when you think of the fact that most corporations nowadays do not actually listen to what the consumer REALLY needs.
I can almost see NIKE sweating. NIKE employs South East Asians to produce shoes on the cheap (under USD5) and retails it for about USD45. I remember the case of the Indonesian plant that was found employing children, NIKE was brought to shame then.
Anyway, read up the corporations background, mission and vision and decide for yourself whether you want to be part of a rather interesting revolution.
Now, if only they had those sneakers in my size.

Penniless on the sidewalk
09.23.04 (3:31 pm)
Payday was yesterday. No, depression was not the reason why I did not blog yesterday. I was shell shock from seeing all the payments I had to make...
The problem with me is that I don't need more money (not that I don't like that ) but rather I spend too much money. Grocery and car repairs topped the list last month whereas impulsive buying topped the list in June. Looking back now I realized that some of the stuff I bought was plain junk.
Would a life with money be better? I sometimes envy those that live by the sidewalk. They have less worries or fits of compulsive buying. Their worries are basic worries, food and shelter.
If one could live a life where the only things that worry you are only food and shelter. Imagine the amount of money that you would have saved up. You'd look poor but financially wealthy rather then looking wealthy but financially poor.
Would I trade this life for a spartan life? If it involves living on my own island with food and shelter and at least broadband then I'll drop everything in half a heart-beat.
But for now I've got bills to pay and pennies to count.

Bird flu manic tension...nuts
09.21.04 (11:24 pm)
Coming down with a flu....nuts - bird flu? Nope, didn't eat anything like a bird lately - chickens are not birds; they are dinosaurs.
Will bird flu be a seasonal thing? The haze has become as punctual as the monsoon rains.
Conspiracy theory about bird flu from the mind of objectzero.
Its a plot by the ducks of the world to erradicate chickens, who have been the dominate species in almost every dish. When we eat some-thing new what do we say?
"Taste like chicken lah"
Ducks have not taken nicely to all this talk about chickens. In their secret lab somewhere near Batu Lintang - next to the coffin shop, they hatched their plan of world domination.
Sad to say their experiments turned on them too with ducks also falling prey to the flu. But all is not lost since they have a high-level secret colony living on the Malukan islands. This group of high-level-steroid smart ducks will emerge to claim their throne once the chicken population is close to zero.
Humans are also targets of the Duck National Union of Species Survival. Once chickens are gone, we would naturally turn to ducks for our eating needs. The flu was also designed to kill off humans. More people have died of flu in the past two years then ever before.
Open our eyes humans to the threat that ducks bring.
They are un-happy. Why? Everytime we think of duck, what dish comes to mind?
Peking-duck....er...Peking Duck...
Come on what other dish comes to mind when you think of duck?
No wonder they are getting diabolical. We give chickens too much credit.
All the above information was gleemed from internet searches and various interviews with un-happy chicken breeders.
Yes, I'm dead bored.

Plasma slave
09.20.04 (9:56 pm)
I seriously believe that I'm turning into a plasma slave. Eversince I got my broadband, the amount of time I spend in front of my computer has increased. It's like a junkie coming back to that dark street corner to get his next fix.
I'm in front of a plasma screen for about 8hrs a day in the office and then I'll add another few hours at home. Heck, the plasma screen has already replaced my 29 inch tv, PS2 and DVD player. My mum even muttered the other day that I'm married to my computer!
Wait till I get my new camera.
I had a rather fruitful morning meeting up with some friends. Discussing some creative work for the coming months. Among them is a book job which involves taking pictures of plants at a forest reserve. This one interest me a lot. Going back into nature is rewarding enough but to be part of a publication that introduces the beauty of nature to the world is even greater reward.
Honestly speaking, making it big in photography in Malaysia is hard work since the market is small and everyone is gunning for everything that comes their way. Plus, the subject matter is limited. If you want to make it in photography, then you will need to look overseas.
With the advent of digital photography, it is now possible to market ones images to a global market. Its hard work but in the long run it will pay off.
Thats why I'm sticking to being a plasma slave. Hey, I'm paying for the broadband!

Winning the bid - CANON 10D
09.20.04 (2:29 am)
After a restless night, I woke up this morning to watch my bid slip in 6 seconds before the close to finally win the right to take home the CANON 10D.
At half the price I would get it here, I am truly contented. To me it is an offer that I could not let go.
I have not been able to contact the seller yet, to get the true amount that I must pay him since there is a 12 hour difference between Malaysia and Philadelphia.
I may have to dish out some extra cash to pay off the tax that would be levied when the item reach our shores but I am satisfied. This will be my christmas present for this year and the coming 3 years.
Why all this hype over a camera? Why not just get a normal point and shoot, shiny, single button one?
For someone like me, its all in the learning. I've hit a wall with what I can do with the current cameras that I have. I own two, a prosumer digital camera - Olympus C730 UZ and a 35mm - Canon 100 (ELAN). I just needed to up the bar (so to say) and move on into un-known territory.
My ultimate goal is to actually get my pictures featured in a magazine or picture gallery. Unreal dreams? Well, you have to start somewhere.
The Canon 10D is an impressive piece of equipment. I had the chance of playing around with the D60, the predecessor to the 10D. I was hooked, line and sinker. The 10D is an upgrade to the D60 so my experience will indeed be a good one.
Now, I hope I can sleep this week as I await the arrival of another member to my family (ouch...sorry wifey).

Nokia 6600 themes
09.19.04 (3:15 am)
For those of us who own and are romantically involve with our Nokia 6600 (its a handphone...), we may have gotten really bored with our screen interface.
I got bored in under 15 minutes after purchasing mine.
What do you do? Well, first you play around with the Themes function of your phone. Nokia has graciously bundled 4 (free) themes but all are merely color tweaks of the same design. Stump, getting totally bored with that Nokia 6600; you head over to Nokia's website.
You'll find some fine looking themes here but wait...you have to pay! Pay for what should be FREE. Before you dished out that credit card you swiped from good old dad, there are other places to go.
Thank goodness we have The Unlocker.
The Unlocker website offers you tonnes and tonnes of themes, software and tweaks for your Nokia 6600 phone. Guess what, it's donateware.
You are encouraged to donate towards the upkeep of this website. Though all downloads are free, if you don't want to live as a heart-less download-hogger then throw this guy some pennies, its all for a good cause.
Besides downloading stuff, you can also upload your themes. By doing so you would have inducted yourself into an elite group of people. People who keep the spirit of free downloads, people who design for the common good, people who are total geeks; with symbian os code written on their foreheads...oh and you'll contribute to world peace.
So if you're stumped on what to do with that Nokia 6600, you've got 2 choices - 1).sell the phone to me for RM200 (USD52.40) or 2). go over to The Unlocker website.

New digital cameras
09.17.04 (5:18 pm)
Olympus is shipping out a host of new cameras this quarter. Among others is the 7MB C-7000 zoom and D-535 zoom. Just in time for the Christmas shopping crowd.
This year expect the price of digital cams to come down as newer, higher pixel cams are launched. On the other side of things, if you only need a 3.2 Mega-pixel digital camera, now is also the best time to get one since those cams will be on the bottom rung of the price scale.. Big mega-pixel does not mean better. It just gives you the chance to print bigger size pictures. If you are just a 4R person then anything from 2 Mega-pixels to 4 mega would be good enough.
When getting digital cameras get the highest possbile memory card that you can budget for. It pays to have a big one. Throw in the carrying bag and tripod, if you can. Sellers would normally bring the price down if you bundle these things together. Ask for freebies! You normally would run away with free stuff, if you ask nicely.
For those that are new to photogrpahy with a digital camera, check out these tips. The article goes a long way to show you how to take great pictures.
I miss a great opportunity for a photo-shoot this week, with the National Day celebration gala in town. But from what a photographer friend told me, it wasn't worth the wait. He wanted to take the firework display but I guess he missed it (he talk much about the event). Besides that night I was too busy combing eBay for treasure.
I've realized that eBay is a haven for cameras. You can get really good bargains from some of the online stores. You could also use eBay to market your own pictures. Mind you what may look ugly to you could be art on someones wall. The world is large enough for the weird tastes of man.
As for that Canon 10D that I'm eyeing, if all goes well by tomorrow it will be mine. Praying hard that God allows this for me. It cost a bomb but it well worth it.

Lens, lights and moron photographer
09.16.04 (3:53 am)
The Canon 10D still eludes me - still got 3 days till the auction ends.
Its so pathetic, why am I so glued onto eBay?
In this hour alone I have discovered another offer going for half what I bid and finishing a day earlier. The only thing that is holding me back is that this one comes clean. No accessories, no nothing - straight out of the box.
I have made some observation of eBay buyers and sellers. A high percentage of US auctioners will only sell to US based buyers. UK auctioners are more open to marketing their wares to overseas clients. US buyers do not seem to bid on UK base items eventhough their exchange rates are only separated (as of today) by 0.7 cents. (GBP1.00 = USD1.70).
Monetary value is cheaper when you convert Malaysian Ringgit to USD. So to save some money I'm going to see if the following logical scenario is possible.
The item I'm bidding on is in GBP but eBay is US based so it's currency is USD. eBay converts GBP to the equivalent in USD within its system. I'm going to see if I can pay the item price in USD rather then GBP...ouch, scrape this idea. I can only save about USD1.00, makes no difference which ever way you go.

09.14.04 (8:11 pm)
[image]objectzero_7823823 36.jpg[/image]
I've got bonk off by another bidder for the Canon 300D but am now eye-balling another beauty. The Canon 10D.
The 10D and 300D share similar functions. You can say that the 300D is a scaled down version of the 10D. Due to the fact that the 10D came out earlier then the 300D, the 2nd hand price is almost equal to the 300D.
I'm keeping my eyes to heaven. Maybe God will be merciful to me and allow me this lovely luxury.

[image]objectzero_9488580 5.jpg[/image] CANON 300D
I've got 16h 5m to the close of the auction and the above beauty will be mine...all mine. Muahahahahahahaha
After scouring eBay for a good deal, I came across this one last night. Now I am on a quest to out-bid any joker who puts up a bid for this beauty - I can almost hear smeagol in the back of my head.
The feeling of bidding for eBay items is worse than gambling. You get this kiasu emotion everytime someone else bids higher than you.
But if it goes over my budget then I'll give it a miss.
Wifey wouild kill me for spending my money this way but it's cheaper than getting it here in Malaysia (RM1000 lesser) and there are tonnes of accessories thrown in (8 extras).
With broadband, I finally was able to update my photoblog. I intend to pursue further photography once I find the time. I really need to go out more often to catch images and to see new things. I seem to be missing a lot of things lately.
Hopefully, I won't miss the camera opportunity!

Surfing the broadband
09.13.04 (2:08 am)
I finally got broadband to surf with. Gone are the days of my dial up modem, I now can turn on the cruise control and watch the net go by. Interestingly the technician's first question to my mum when he arrive to install the thingy was, "Where's the cpu?"
I own an iMac.
So I left work early to oversee the task of setting up my broadband line. Was worried that they covert my precious iMac into a toaster. After scrapping for about an hour and some tweaking on my part (tech guy had no idea how to configure my Mac), I now have broadband. Yup, the greatest invention since morning-sickness pills.
A flurry of software upgrading followed suit. Stuff that I've not upgraded for months. A host of security updates and I managed all that under half an hour.
Still I am not satisfied with the speed. I was promised 512kb/s but I'm getting only 200kb/s. I am not really getting what I paid for so the ISP company will be hearing from me soon.
I am currently hunting for the latest version of Firefox (browser from Mozilla). They apparently have a version 1.0PR which I can't find.
Let me know if you guys find it.

2nd swipe at The Village - after BK's take
09.09.04 (11:27 pm)
[image]objectzero_9911442 85.gif[/image]
Stroke up, stroke down, stroke up. I'm the hero of this flick and all I do is paint trees.
I've watched almost all of M. Night's movies. The one I miss was Unbreakable. Would I give this one a miss?
Nope.
After bagging myself two Spiderman2 t-shirts and assorted snacks to sneak in, I gleefully walked into the movie (along with wifey) purely with the intention of being scared speechless.
I was ... for the first 30 minutes. Then the movie took on a more deeper context-brain-thinking mood. The plus points of this movie is the telling of a human-tale. A tale of how a group of people decided to live away from the so-call evils of this world only to be harrased by "Those-that-we-do-not-spe ak-off". The story of love between two rather contrasting characters. The great lengths one goes through in order to a maintain a life of deceit.
The telling of this tale is the strength of the movie. The cinamatography is superb. Some of the dialog was pretty lame but the scene made up for it. The I-profess-my-love scene alone, should be given an oscar. That's M.Night's strength, he plays the camera like a painter to his canvas. He projects the emotion of the moment onto the silver screen. Partly in part because he had a rather ok group of actors with him in this show.
The out-standing character (for me) was actually the village-idiot. Adrien Brody carried that character well. Truly a tragic character.
Pheonix was better in Signs and Gladiator, in this movie he seems rather dry. Though I must admit it was probably because the character Lucius Hunt is in itself a cold, stone-faced character.
I actually found myself rooting for Bryce Dallas Howard (Ivy). Ivy models the women of today. Tough but tender. I won't mind having her as a best friend (sorry wifey ... ouch). She exerts a bubbling energy onto the screen.
The movie un-folds as it goes on but it looses the momentum after the 1st twist. The movie never really recovered from that period onwards. Here lies the negatives of this movie. Too many twists. One twist is enough but to have three twists revealed back-to-back was a bit too much for me. It kinda killed the movie.
I will not ellaborate any further.
"How far are we willing to go in order to run from our personal demons?". In this case, not that far.
"Denial of one's past?" In this case, a lot of it.
I'd give it a 6/10.
Leaving the cinema I realized a serious plot flaw. At the end we find out where everyone came from. You have the original Elders who came to the Village and learn about their sad story butwhere did the rest of the villagers come from? Watch the movie and you'll understand why I ask this question.
By the way see if you can catch M.Night's cameo appearance?

Sand, beach and the football title...
09.09.04 (6:11 pm)
I'm off to my church camp this evening. Wifey is going through her war-list of items to bring. This is the first major trip outside home that we are taking, with Ryan. Everything is going into the boot except the kitchen sink.
This year, we the younger ones will finally beat the olden-elders at beach-football. Two years in a row we have lost. This year I feel good and we are ready to take them on. The only prize here is bragging rights and sand between your toes.
I have not been blogging since Monday due to a personal project that I've been working on. Yes, another maniac idea to make money off the net. I will make millions muahahahahaha but if I don't, well; move on to the next idealah.
I have noticed this rather odd phase that I am going through. I can't seem to hold focus for too long. I get distracted easily and eventually get stressed out. I tend to want to finish off every task at one go. Though it seems noble, eventually I end up doing nothing.
Hopefully it is a phase or maybe I should cut short my intake of coffee at night.
Today, I have to submit my appraisal form. Every year I am stump at what I have to say in this form. Why can't we all get appraised by merely saying, yes and no? Yes, good job and No, did not do a good job. Pretty straight forward and it saves a lot of time.
Today, the nations budget will be tabled at the cabinet meeting in Kuala Lumpur. Will be listening to the last part when they (hopefully) will announce this year's bonus package. I prefer that they increase our basic pay by 10% (or more) than giving us a flat payment of a month's wage. In the long run it's better for wage slaves like me.
Pak Lah give us more money!

Evil Days
09.05.04 (9:32 pm)
A shout out to arainking. Yesterday, I saw the pain in your smile. Today I understand why. [line] This weekend I was amazed at how evil is rearing its head. 322 people died in Russia, mostly children. They died in the name of some political game.
Gone are the days when war was fought on the battle fields. When battles were fought for honor and country. Nowadays, anyone walking the street is a target. In this case children attending the first day of school.
This is not a war of muslims against christians, no it is evil against humanity. No human being would attack defenseless children. No human being would do so in the name of religion. No human being would admire such deeds.
This incident (Russia) just pisses me off cause its so senseless.
In other news, last friday another Hornbill Skyway heli crashed. ::Jem::Gewels:: has coverage on that. I say close down Hornbill Skyways. It doesn't do justice for this company to still operate when they are guilty of so many deaths.

Sodomy conviction quashed for Malaysian reformer By Jan McGirk, South-east Asia Correspondent
03 September 2004
Anwar Ibrahim, Malaysia's most prominent political prisoner, was wheeled out of prison yesterday and set free after the country's highest court quashed a sodomy charge against the former deputy prime minister.[more]
It is interesting to note that the above writer thinks the court-house is in Bangkok.
The Federal Verdict (in PDF) - from jeffooi's blog. You can also read the web-version at kehakiman.gov.my here and here.
Up to the time of writing this entry, there are exactly 269 news reports on Anwar's release on Google.
For the past six years, this case has been the black dot in Mahathir's reign. Though there were other incidences that would raise an eyebrow or two, the Anwar debacle was the most prominant one. Will this change the political land-scape? Maybe and maybe not? What I can say is that the justice system has finally re-deemed itself of a mess.
With this incident out of the way the gomen can now slowly start the process of building trust in the justice system. I foresee more "top" level people getting haul in for corruption and abuse of power. The common Malaysia will now see reality tv at its best. Real bad guys being haul in by the good guys.
Will Anwar trump up the reformasi movement? I think he will, but without the pomp-up-demonstrations and street rallies. The general Malaysian wants only to live in peace and harmony. We don't need another political up-heaval as seen in 1998. For some of us, all these political tight-rope-walking is a distant haze.
I see politics as a puppet show. We only see the puppets not the puppeteers. We hear voice-overs but don't get to see the voice-artist. But once in a while a certain puppeteer sticks his head up and we see them for all that they are. Sometimes the voice doesn't match the face...
Malaysia should jump start another reality show. The Next Big Politician or Akademi Politik. Winners will be judge on their power to throw false promises and take swipes at each others short-comings. Crying and overly show of emotion is highly encourage. Any takers?

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim Freed.
09.02.04 (1:35 am)
[image]objectzero_8223028 39.jpg[/image]
Surfing has been reduced to a crawl where I work. I believe the gremlins are back.
Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was found innocent after his appeal was accepted this morning. This will send cheers through the opposition camp since he has been the symbolic leader of the opposition movement in Malaysia. I have this feeling that the current administration do not see him as a serious treat.
I watched the whole drama un-folded in 1998 when Anwar was sacked and then arrested and convicted on crimes which I think were a set-up. Since then his name has been a rallying cry for the opposition movement in Malaysia.
Will he still championed the cause that he help established in 1998? I am sure there will be those that would want him to. If he chooses to take it up then I believe the political scene in Malaysia will change. He would be a treat to the majority political party - UMNO.
His detention will surely be used as a model of social in-justice and abuse of the justice system by some quarters. Anwar is not only free but also his conviction of sodomy is over-turned. In other words he is proclaimed innocent in the eyes of the law. What an about turn.
Justice in this case open her eyes.
